Senior Strategy Consultant – Life Sciences – UK

Our client is a highly established consultancy that provides strategic advice to top pharmaceutical companies, particularly during the launch phase of new drugs to ensure that the product is accessible, competitive, and can hence reach its maximum potential when hitting the market.  With an outstanding track record so far, our client has grown exponentially over the last decade, and with plans to double in size by 2024, they have partnered with Apsida to expand their specialist consulting team in the UK.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Consultant, your main responsibility will be to manage small to medium scale projects with minimal supervision from the Senior team.  You will ensure that high-quality deliverables are provided to clients in a timely manner to maintain and strengthen relationships.  You will regularly communicate with your client throughout a project to ensure that their expectations are managed and will identify and pursue business development opportunities as and when they arise.  Although varied, projects typically focus on strategic planning and competitive strategy in order to put your client in the best possible position for a successful product launch.

Who You Are:

  • A professional with ~5 years of experience and an understanding of the Life Science industry.
  • Possess strong analytical, commercial, and critical thinking skills.
  • An experienced Project Manager with a successful track record within Brand Strategy or Strategic Marketing.
  • Interested in developing your knowledge and becoming a specialist in 1-2 areas of the business.
  • Familiar and comfortable with the fast-paced and rewarding nature of consulting.
  • Able to independently identify and pursue potential business development opportunities.
  • Highly literate and a strong communicator who can provide defendable opinions and solutions to clients.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Managing small to medium scale projects or key aspects of larger complex projects.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality project components within specified timeframes.
  • Conducting research to develop your knowledge of 1-2 key business areas in order to become specialised.
  • Pursuing BD opportunities and supporting BD meetings by providing draft proposals.
  • Supporting clients throughout a project with regular communication to manage their expectations and maintain a high level of engagement.
  • Working and engaging with a number of teams across the business, providing your specialist knowledge and support where required.
  • Using strategic and critical thinking skills consistently.
  • Coaching more junior members of the team and providing leadership support when necessary.
