Mergers and acquisitions occur frequently within the Life Science industry, and it’s no secret that they can significantly implicate employee retention and hiring strategies. If mishandled, a company may end up with disgruntled ex-employees tarnishing their reputation and a disconnected post-acquisition workforce who have very little trust in their leaders or the future of the business. This is the worst-case scenario.

To avoid this outcome, Life Science leaders should focus on being transparent with employees, creating new values and a blended culture post-acquisition rather than expecting one team to conform to the other. They should also strive to handle redundancies with grace, diligence, and empathy to protect their employer brand and reputation.

If you’d like to discuss your pre- or post-acquisition hiring strategy with one of Apsida’s experts, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
