    Ben Pearce

    Ben is an accomplished leader and recruiter in the Life Science industry.

    With over decade of experience of recruiting in HEOR and Market Access, Ben has also led teams across Europe and North America in Clinical Development, Medical affairs, Quality Assurance, Regulatory and Commercial strategy.

    Throughout his career, Ben has built strong relationships with companies ranging from start up Biotech’s to Fortune 500 businesses and everything in between.

    His particular speciality is helping Consulting companies grow out their Commercial divisions.

    Commenting on the first 5 years in business with Apsida, Ben said ‘I am beyond proud of what we have achieved since 2019. From navigating our way through the Covid pandemic just 9 months after launching, to growing our team into America, London and Redhill, it’s been an exciting journey full of lots of valuable lessons.

    2024 has seen some stability come back into our market despite the challenges 2023 left us with. Q2 inital results have been positive and have left us full of ambition and determination for the rest of the year and beyond.

    Michael, our very own native Greek, holds 8 years of experience recruiting within the Life Science industry. His focus throughout that time has been in supporting organisations across a variety of the industries sectors, building out their Sales & Business Development teams in both Europe and North America. In addition, Michael is an accomplished leader, having managed and developed award-winning recruitment divisions in his previous employment.

    Jamie is a successful Life Science recruitment leader having developed experienced consultants in multiple markets across the industry.

    Holding 8 years’ recruitment experience mostly partnering small to medium sized Biotechnology, Diagnostic, Medical Device, CRO & Pharmaceutical companies, Jamie’s core expertise lies in recruiting leadership teams across Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs & Project Management with a focus on supporting Oncology drug discovery & development organisations.

    His core market expertise covers the UK, Switzerland, Germany and North America.

    Paul has over 23 years experience of working in the recruitment sector and has developed organically some of the largest brands in the sector. Having started as a recruitment consultant in 1998, Paul took the experience he had gained of recruiting into the public sector and established his first recruitment business in 2000. The business successfully grew to the largest provider of qualified social workers in the UK and was successfully sold to a competitor in 2006.

    Paul continued to partner with the recruitment industry, and successfully assisted several recruitment businesses during challenging stages of their development before setting up another recruitment group 10 years ago. Paul now focuses his time on developing the group of companies and investing in new ones. On a practical level, this takes the form of offering board-level guidance, support, and coaching to the management team in Apsida whilst ensuring the business operates in a risk-free and compliant way.

    Alex is one of our Associate Directors, with 9 years of experience placing top industry talent in the Clinical and Medical industry. His expertise is focused on making mid-level to senior management placements, with capabilities to also hire more junior talent such as Clinical Research Associates and MSLs. Alex has experience collaborating with various companies ranging from large multinationals to small start-ups such as biotech, pharma, CRO, medical devices or diagnostics companies. Due to his deep networks in candidate communities, he has access to very specific and hard-to-find talent.

    Throughout his career, Alex has successfully appointed talent using a variety of search methodologies such as Retained, Contingent Search and Contract/Interim, meaning he can tailor his services depending on your needs. He has also conducted large, global searches and has appointed talent in the US, UK and Europe for his clients.

    Ethan Cortese leads our Regulatory and Quality recruitment activities across the UK, US, EU. He has over 7 years’ experience placing at all levels of seniority with a niche for finding Mid-Level to Senior Leadership appointments. He has collaborated with a number of smaller organisations to help find their first Regulatory/Quality hire as a business and is well experienced at upscaling teams within businesses when they expand. Ethan is a diligent head-hunter that works across both retained and contingent search solutions utilising his deep network in candidate communities. He partners with Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Device companies.

    Throughout his career, he has successfully built and led contract teams, offering flexible interim and project solutions to clients while supporting their consulting strategies and thanks to his expansive global network, Josh has been able to place candidates in six out of seven continents.

    Joseph is one of our Business Managers with over 7 years of experience in the Commercial area of the Life Science industry. He has been responsible for placing first class talent ranging from mid tier to senior management appointments including CCO’s. Earlier in his career, Joseph also had exposure to the Clinical industry, giving him a wider understanding of the Life Science chain as a whole.

    Joseph’s core focus encompasses a unique blend of service providers including Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research Organisations, Contract, Development & Manufacturing Organisations and Life Science Software companies. Having developed this sharp focus over the years, Joseph has been able to justify himself as having an inch wide and mile deep network for exclusive talent within these specialist fields.

    Due to Joseph’s long lasting relationships, his methodology for success has included retained, contingent and interim assignments; all of which are carefully discussed to cater for each clients’ specific need. He has conducted large Global searches for many of his clients and has been attentive to both the European and US continents, with a focus on the UK, France, BeNeLux, Nordic and DACH regions.

William boasts an impressive track record in filling multi-hire projects in short time lines by offering organisations the search methods of Retained Assignments, Contingent, Freelance and Executive Search.     Her role in events is focused both internally and externally. She’s responsible for helping Apsida as a business connect with the industry and showcase our value as a recruitment partner, as well as curating top-tier incentives and events internally across the business that align with the growth and vision of our brand.

    Jon has been with Apsida since May 2019 receiving two promotions within his first year, as well as achieving Performer of the Year 2021. He went on to receive his third promotion in October 2021.

    Following on from his early success, Jon continued to make a multitude of placements across Europe and US  in the Market Access and Commercial Strategy space. He specialises in both industry and consulting positions meaning he is well-versed in headhunting in an extremely competitive market. His network is incredibly strong, having focused on a very tight niche serving top clients on both retained, contingent and contract basis.

    More recently, Jon is our first addition to the Boston office and will lead the expansion as Vice President, North America. As a result, his desk has now moved into a US-centric position whilst continuing to have an oversight of all international placements.

    Matthew is one of our Principal Consultants with over 5 years’ of experience in the Life Sciences industry. Within the last 3 years’ Matthew has built a successful Decentralized Trials and eClinical desk, and within that time he has specifically worked with more than two-dozen small to mid-size DCT & eClinical firms and has assisted them in scaling and growing their business. Matthew is known by his candidates and clients alike as a true networker – 50% of his placements in the Decentralized Trials space have proactive hires by his clients.

    Matthew’s main objective when partnering with clients is helping them achieve their commercialization and go-to-market strategy goals. He has grown his clients’ Sales, Marketing, Operations and Professional Services teams and is able to provide them with either contract or permanent based talent throughout the United States.

    Matthew is Apsida Life Sciences’ first North America hire and is responsible for client expansion, growth strategy and management initiatives for our North America business unit.

    Lamek is one of our Senior Specialist Consultants who focuses on the CRO market. He has successfully placed a variety of clinical research professionals globally within the Commercial space ranging from Senior/Directors Business Development, Account Executives, Inside Sales, Contract Managers and Proposal Managers. He has experienced placing candidates within start-up, small to mid-size, and large household name organisations.

    Over his time at Apsida, he has built a very strong network within the Commercial space and has received a number of recommendations from candidates whom he has assisted with a successful career move and clients he has helped expand their Clinical Research sectors.

    Mark has gone from strength to strength in the time he’s been with Apsida, absorbing information not only in his specialist vertical but also the wider Life Science industry. Specialising in recruiting senior-level Business Development professionals, he has made a number of successful placements across Europe and North America.

    During Marks recruitment career, through both retained and contingent searches, he has supported several small, mid and large CROs, working on positions such as junior Contract Analysts through to a retained Senior Vice President search. He has a keen eye for placing the right individuals with the correct companies, utilising his strong network to source exceptional talent for his clients, working closely with both his candidates and clients to ensure a seamless interview process, and to ensure continued professional relationships with future opportunities.
